Author: Petra Pötschke
Petra Pötschke, born in 1959, studied mechanical engineering and obtained her Ph. D. in mechanical engineering from Technical University Dresden, Germany, in 1988. After that she joined the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF) as researcher. Dr. Pötschke has published more than 80 scientific papers in the fields of polymer blends, melt rheology and morphology, hyperbranched polymers, thermoplastic polyurethanes, and nanocomposites on the bases of polymers or polymer blends filled with carbon nanomaterial. In 1997, she got the Award of the Association of Supporters of the IPF for Innovative Research on New Materials. In 2000/2001 she worked as a visiting scholar with Prof. D.R. Paul, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, USA, for which she got a grant of the Max-Kade-Foundation, New York, USA. There she started to work in the field of carbon nanotube polymer composites, antistatics, and conductive polymers.
