Ligia Gargallo, born in 1934, studied Pharmaceutical Chemistry and obtained Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1971. Full Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile 1976. Expertise includes university teaching and research in Physical Chemistry and Polymer Science. She has published reviews and books ("Preferential Adsorption in Vinyl Polymers".
